Functional test (component not stated)
A functional test on equipment that runs every day is a test of the logbook. On equipment that does not, it is the only proof it will start.
- Condition that replaces the interval
- Depends on the equipment. Where the equipment runs in normal service, its normal operation is the test and the controller logs it; standby equipment still has to be run
- Reading that proves it
- Operation confirmed with the measured parameter (time, pressure, current) rather than pass or fail
- Why the interval stays
- Duty equipment tests itself in service; standby and safety equipment does not and its test interval is usually set by a code.
- Evidence an auditor accepts
- Test record with the measured value, and the controller log where the equipment runs on duty
- First move
- Mark each functional test as duty or standby equipment; the duty ones convert to the log.
